About the Role
Reporting to the Plant Quality & H&S Manager we are looking for a Quality Technician to join our team at our Asmuss manufacturing site in Hamilton. You will provide quality assurance service and support to production areas and external clients including preparing polyethylene weld and pressure test samples.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Managing all aspects of testing, documentation and reporting within the testing facility
  • Coordinating quality control of the plant, including manufacturing inspections, outside contractors, equipment calibration, supplier quality management, in house and external laboratory testing, laboratory consumables, external accreditations, third party inspections, internal and external audits
  • Maintaining and improving the quality system, ensuring all required standards and accreditations are complied with
  • Completing relevant quality audits & inspections
  • Liaising with management on all major aspects of quality control
  • Coordinating product certifications in line with Asmuss and Customer requirements
  • Conduct regular in-house inspections, to ensure product quality is maintained to the required standards, document, and report findings
  • Supporting the Plant Quality & H&S Manager to manage corrective and preventive action system
  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure all customer complaints are dealt with in a timely and effective manner

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience with quality assurance / testing in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in HDPE pipe manufacture and testing requirements of AS/NZS 4130 desirable
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytical skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team

This role involves using a battery-powered chainsaw to cut plastic pipes as part of the quality assurance process. We welcome candidates who are comfortable and confident in operating a battery-powered chainsaw.

Hours of Work: 7.30am – 4.00pm, Monday – Friday.
