Job Description

We’re looking for two Business Development Representatives on a permanent full-time basis; you will each be responsible for your own dedicated territory, operate independently, focusing on growing and supporting customer-base within its allocated territories.

One Representative will be covering our Central North Island territory: covering Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Gisborne, Napier, and Hastings. This role can be based at any of our regional sites, including Hamilton, Tauranga, Taupo, or Kawerau. The second representative will be based out of our Mount Wellington site covering the greater Auckland region, including the upper North Island/North of Auckland customers travelling no further than Kerikeri.

A large part of this role includes travel within the territory; we’re seeking candidates who enjoy being on the road and engaging face-to-face with customers. Your travel commitments will be determined by the call cycle for your territory, including overnight stays.

 

The successful candidates will build relationships within the reseller network, bring a blend of technical aptitude and strong sales acumen, with a natural motivation to achieve results.
You don’t need to be an industry expert from day one, but a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional service across your territory is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the reseller market
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through excellent communication and accurate technical product information
  • Manage a regular call cycle and grow established customer base within the civil, irrigation and plumbing sector
  • Identify and propel sales-growth opportunities to meet revenue targets
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support seamless service delivery and customer success
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations within required timeframes
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, whether in-person, over the phone, or via email
  • Expand and evolve your product knowledge through ongoing learning and training.

 

We are ideally looking for someone who has:

  • Exposure to the merchant market such as irrigation, civil and plumbing, experience is bonus.
  • Computer literate, experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP system. 
  • Clean full driver’s licence required for travel.
  • Ability to engage in new relationships, via phone calls or face-to-face.
  • You are solution-focused with a willingness to tackle various tasks and resilient in the face of rejection.
  • Excellent communication skills and a well-presented, professional manner.
